Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's maiden title since the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt since spring of 2023.
Success also indicates he has won twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, including in that event previously this season.
The player's counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had led observers to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the player has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Frenchman, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the champion broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a point at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a shot after a lengthy match.
