Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to damage the national power system, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

He said energy workers and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
